i really wish Funimation had removed the 'introduce backstory of Jimmy/Shinichi/Conan' from their versions of the movies. if you're not watching/buying the TV series you wouldn't be buying/watching the movies.

this one's fun and intricate. :)

although i think the Rasputin angle was a bit overplayed.

the first shot with that pistol, totally impossible. silenced semi-automatic pistols normally use what's called sub-sonic rounds. they're fairly standard, except for the reduced gunpowder load in the brass casing. that makes them less likely to make a loud bang when fired, or a sonic boom when the bullet travels through the air. the bullet moves slower, has a shorter effective range, (therefore it wouldn't hit the target in midair) and a slightly reduced impact force upon impact. even with a sub-sonic shot, one to the eyeball protected by that? nope. you're going down, probably dead.

but, it was a fun movie.

Why the hell does 7 year old Haibara have a "your son calls me mommy, too" voice?

depends on which one you're asking about, Erica Mendez /she also is doing Raphtalia in ShieldHero/ or Brina Palencia /Saten from Railgun/ both ladies have worked as Haibara. remember, this one was released in Japan in 1999 and Funimation didn't put movie 3 out on DVD till 2007.

it took me a minute during the watermelon scene in the Doc's house but i definitely heard Saten there, so this one is Ms. Palencia.

also, the Japanese VA Ms. Hayashibara doesn't play Haibara as a little girl either, that's the mind of a jaded, 'mad scientist', experimenter on humans, 20 something year old PhD holder running around in that little girl body.

you can't play Haibara like Ayumi... since 'Amy' IS a normal little girl.

Yeah, I get that, but the same applies to Conan and his kid voice, even when he is serious he sounds childish. Haibara is straight up dominatrix.
